What do you think of New York City's ban on the use of trans-fats in restaurants? - obesity reduction
Even if you do not live in New York, it is inevitable that this will be the status quo across the country, so that you will influence.
1. Do you think the ban on trans fats inhibit their right to choose how you use your body?
2. Do you believe that the benefits of a ban on this substance is not in good health and reducing mortality, obesity and other health care costs is greater than the right of individuals to determine how they will treat their bodies?
3. Can a link between this and other freedoms that we do or not in our society?

1) Yes
2) None
3) do not understand why my body when I was pregnant by another man, but not my body when I want to chow on french fries. If you would be drawing our personal freedoms, at least be consistent.
I Love it! I am sick and tired of paying for health care for the obese. We hope to reduce the current epidemic of diabetes.
1. Of course, this prohibition prevents my right to choose.
2. No benefits do not outweigh my right to treat my body as I want.
3. Of course it is my right to do what I want with my body, how to remove the ban on abortion. It's just another step in the weakening of the Americans and say they can not these decisions for themselves. They give us and we will decide. Another correlation is my local cinema I was told that a parent can decide whether my child can see an R-rated movie with me. I Should my child to a movie rated R, it is not 8, but should the right to vote or not. All this from personal freedoms against us, which I think is criminal. That is all I can give is advice.

As a Canadian I am very upset and concerned about the ban. I fear that the rights of Americans here have been shaken. Clear that trans fats are the worst and should be banned, but should not have the American people the right to choose her. I fully understand the need to ban something as unhealthy. One might wonder, what now. They have seen fit to ban this reason, the right not to eat meat or save if you want, or late at night, and so can not a smoker, but she was told that no one asks questions disadvantages to the laws, where you can smoke?
I think it's great. Nothing to improve human health.
It has to dictate almost any other obligation of governments to see how I use my body. If you do not like the menus of fast food ... Do not eat there. If you do not care about the programming on TV ... not see. I do not dictate what to do, simply because they believe. People with unhealthy eating habits continue their bad habits, no matter what happens. The government is in every home and prepare healthy meals for their citizens? Yeah, right. As for healthcare, insurance, why should the treatment of heart attacks and cancer to pay, but no programs to help people to quit smoking.
What # 3 is affected. You know where I stand!
As for the smoking ban, which you mention. It is now prohibits smoking at public places. This is the case in many states. So, if I worry too much smoke for you ... leave.
GOVERNMENT of the privacy of citizens.
I can think of 20-times more than an act harmful to humans, but nothing to the government on IT.
Just kidding.
Good question!
1. Yes it does. Alcohol is not banned
2. Absolutely! If they are not willing to do for themselves, the benefits of doing for them are enormous. Still, it was possible to ban smoking in restaurants and many public places. You can always commit suicide is a little initiative.
3. You can not drink and drive, but you can drink all you want, at home. We can (or misuse) of certain medications that could harm ourselves or the company. If people could use things in moderation, perhaps Govt. should not legally find a solution.
This is very difficult for a libertarian!
So, does anyone miss the trans fats in their cookies? Another argument that one can say that, although adults choose, so the children can avoid trans fats, can not. Another alternative would be difficult to control include trans fat products for the medical care paid for. Canadians sent to Hell taxes on cigarettes and alcohol, why not the trans fats? People and businesses to quickly become a very cost effective replacement for trans fats!
I think it's ok, but if you think restaurants do not use if it contains "pure beef" () low fat, then what they use?. I've heard that "White Castle" is used "soy" in order to make their burgers, but who knows?
Let's be realistic. The government banned tobacco, snuff, or alcohol, because large companies and government agencies, both federal and state authorities, the biliions and billions of dollars in taxes cigarettes and alcohol.
There are many examples of a public body to do to do this or that ministry just the opposite. Cigarettes and alcohol are the most obvious, but there are many others.
Where is the stop for the ban?
Ban on trans fats is now. What ban next?
It is not my fault people can not stop eating and growing. It's not my fault people are lazy to train. Why does the government have the right to tell me what I can not eat?
